(Undated) – Last week’s short-lived “heatwave” set records. According to National Weather Service Meteorologist, Ed Shimon, last week’s heat set records at their sites in Lincoln, Peoria, and Springfield.

Here at the WTYE studio, we recorded a high of 93 last Wednesday. Shimon notes when you start talking about increased humidity, the chance of “popcorn” storms increases. He reminds the public to always be watchful and aware of changing weather conditions. WTYE continues to be the official weather recording and reporting station in Robinson for the National Weather Service.
