(Undated) – This weekend marks one of the busiest travel weekends of the year and the unofficial start to summer. According to Robinson Police Chief, Chad Weaver, the Robinson Police Department will be joining forces with departments across the state for the Memorial Day “Click-It or Ticket” campaign. Weaver reminds motorists that seat belts have proven to be one of the best ways to save your life in a crash. He says wearing a seatbelt can reduce the risk of fatal injury by forty-five percent. He says unbelted occupants account for more than half of those killed in a motor vehicle crash. The “Click-It or Ticket” campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal highway safety funds.
