(Vincennes, IN) – Indiana authorities have arrested former Vincennes Police Chief, Dusty Luking on charges of theft, forgery, and official misconduct. The charges stem from a criminal investigation, which began in July of 2019, into missing money from the City Police Department. The Indiana State Board of Accounts says the former chief used fourteen thousand dollars of city money between 2013 and 2016 for personal use. He is also suspected of stealing thirty-five thousand dollars from the city’s evidence vault for personal use. Luking’s wife, 49-year-old Bethany Luking, was also arrested in connection to a State Police investigation into a theft of prescription medication from the Bettye J. McCormick Senior Center. She is charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. The two were arrested in Lawrenceville and booked into the Lawrence County Jail, pending extradition to Knox County to face the charges. Dusty Luking resigned from the Vincennes Police Department in October of 2019.
