(Undated) – As the debate over the suspension of the federal gas tax continues, prices nationwide remain lower. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $4.97 a gallon. The price at the pump here in Illinois is unchanged from yesterday at $5.52 a gallon. The price per gallon in Indiana has fallen another two cents from yesterday to $5.10. President Biden is expected to call on Congress to suspend the federal gas tax for three months. If approved by Congress, the suspension would lift the eighteen-cent tax per gallon on gasoline during the summer months, as well as the twenty-four-cent tax per gallon on diesel.
