(Undated) – It’s summer and that means mosquito bites and the threat of West Nile. Several Illinois communities have had mosquitoes test positive for West Nile Virus. While the threat of West Nile is relatively low, the discomfort caused by mosquito bites affects just about everyone. Local Health Departments are monitoring both the mosquito and the bird population for West Nile Virus. To combat mosquitoes and their bites the public is reminded to use insect repellent, remove standing water from their property, and consider yard treatment options.
