U of I Says Plant Now for Fall Flowers

(Undated) – It may be only mid-September but now is the perfect time to think about fall gardening. According to University of Illinois Extension Services Program Coordinator, Sarah Ruth, there are ways to get a start on the season. Ruth says you can plant most bulbs now.

Ruth says now would also be a good time to start planting “cool-season” vegetables. She says right now, the 45-day growing cycle would theoretically give you a harvest just before Thanksgiving.
