(Undated) – The National Weather Service has issued a “Freeze Warning.” According to the current forecast, the warning goes into effect at 9 pm tonight and continues until 9 am tomorrow. They warn that sub-freezing temperatures as low as 24 to 28 degrees are expected. Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and sensitive vegetation. It may also damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. The public is advised to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
