High Winds Continue to Cause Fire Concerns

(Undated) – It’s not a “Red Flag”’ warning but the National Weather Service has issued a warning about high winds. According to the latest “Hazardous Weather Outlook,” strong northwest winds gusting to 30 mph and relative humidity near 35 percent will create increased fire danger through Sunday. The public is discouraged from outdoor burning. If cooking outdoors, keep a careful watch on the grill as burning embers can blow around and easily catch grass on fire. Smokers are also reminded that improperly discarded cigarettes can start fires which could spread quickly. Additionally, field fires may develop more easily.
