(Undated) – The IDNR is reminding deer hunters to check their tree stands. Department of Natural Resources Captain, John Williamson, says tree stand safety is the number one talking point during the bow season.
Williamson also says they recommend using a tree climbing safety harness when getting in and out of your stand. The archery deer season began October 1st in Illinois. The first firearm season begins November 18th.
