BBB Issues Warning About Bank Text Scam

(Undated) — The Better Business Bureau is warning the public about an increase in bank text scams. Better Business Bureau’s, Jessica Tharp, says it all starts with you responding to a text that you think is from your bank, credit union, or lender.

She says if you reply, you confirm to the scammer that they have you “on the hook.”

She says from there they will likely give you a call and advise you to send money to “yourself” using a “digital wallet.” Tharp says the best solution is just to ignore the text message, block the number, and report it to BBB Scam Tracker. Find the link below.
