(Vincennes, IN) – Drivers traveling to and from Vincennes are being reminded the Memorial Bridge closes today. The bridge is part of State Road 441 and connects Indiana to Illinois across the Wabash River. Drivers are reminded that the bridge can be detoured by using the Red Skelton Bridge on U-S 50. The closure will allow for the removal and repair of a set of granite facings on the bridge itself. Crews will reportedly remove around sixteen-hundred pieces of stone. According to authorities, the bridge will be closed today through the end of April. A second closure will be needed later to put the stones back in place. However, that closure time frame has yet to be determined.
