(Undated) – Crawford County State’s Attorney, Cole Shaner, has issued a statement in support of Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan’s, stance against the “Protect Illinois Communities Act.” Shaner says he is “disappointed” in the recently passed HB 5471, which is presumed to be an unconstitutional infringement on the 2nd Amendment rights of Illinois residents. In the statement, Shaner says he will use his “prosecutorial discretion” to continue to uphold the constitutional rights of the citizens of Crawford County.
