(Undated) – It’s been three years ago since the first COVID case was reported in Illinois. The Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, Dr. Sameer Vohar, says it was a hard time for the healthcare industry to react when so much was unknown.
The IDPH says through the pandemic 36,000 died in the state due to COVID and this past December more than 200 Illinoisans’ died of the virus. The first case of the virus was reported in Crawford County in late March 2020.
