BBB Says File Your Taxes Before a Scammer Does

(Undated) – The Better Business Bureau is advising taxpayers to file early. BBB Investigator, Don O’Brien, says filing early may help to prevent scammers from using your information and filing in your name.

He says scammers may also try to get to you through your e-mail, sometimes spoofing e-mail addresses in hopes you will believe they represent an online tax software service you may have used in the past.
