Gas Prices Could Hit $4 A Gallon Soon

(Undated) – We could see gas hit four dollars a gallon sooner rather than later. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, OPEC’s decision to cut oil production by more than a million barrels per day beginning in May was a surprise.

De Haan says while the cut will likely drive prices above four dollars, the real question is “How long will the high prices last?”

Here in Illinois, the price per gallon is just five cents shy of the four-dollar mark, at $3.95. In Indiana, it’s $3.55 a gallon and the current national average is hovering around $3.58.
