(Undated) – Authorities statewide continue to monitor drought conditions. According to the latest numbers from the National Weather Service, Crawford and surrounding counties remain in the “Abnormally Low” category. Here at the Classic Hits, WTYE, studio, we have recorded 1.65 inches of rain so far for the month. Last year wasn’t much better for rainfall in June when we recorded just 1.88 inches. However, in June 2021 we saw above-normal precipitation for the month, recording 3.70 inches of rain. In 2020 we recorded just over two inches for the month and in 2019 we recorded more than seven inches of rainfall in June. WTYE continues to be an official weather recording and reporting station for the National Weather Service.
