(Palestine) – The investigation continues into the hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a Palestine child. According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, at around 8:45 pm Tuesday deputies were dispatched to South Rush and West Grand Prairie in reference to a child being hit by a motor vehicle which fled the scene. Following an initial investigation, fifty-six-year-old Denzil Zimmerman was arrested and booked into the Crawford County jail on the Class 4 Felony charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Following a court appearance yesterday bail for Zimmerman has been set at $200,000. He remains in the Crawford County Jail.
