Wet Trend May Help to Break Drought

(Undated) – More rain in the forecast statewide may help break the ongoing drought. National Weather Service Meteorologist, Ed Shimon, says a wet trend for the remainder of the summer could help us break an ongoing drought in Illinois. He says recent rains have been immensely helpful but it’s not been nearly enough. However, Shimon indicates we are trending above average for rainfall for the rest of July.
According to Shimon, the above-normal precipitation trend is going to hang around for the next few months.
