The National Weather Service is calling for “excessive heat and humidity.” The public is reminded to drink plenty of water, stay in an air-conditioned room when possible, stay out of the sun as much as possible, check up on relatives and neighbors, and young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency and you should call 911.
