According to the National Weather Service, heat index values of 105 to 115 will continue until around sunset, and dangerous heat will persist through Friday. They remind the public that extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. The “Excessive Heat Warning” remains in effect until 10 pm Thursday.
