(Terre Haute, IN) — Groundbreaking was held last week in Terre Haute’s Industrial Park II on a new facility that will help meet the demand for lithium electric vehicle batteries in the United States. That’s how Indiana Governor, Eric Holcomb, described the facility being built by Oregon-based ENTEK. ENTEK sells lead-acid separators, lithium-ion separators, extruders, and engineering services on six continents. ENTEK is investing one-point-five-billion dollars to build the plant and it is estimated that the plant will bring 640 new jobs to the Wabash Valley. The plant will make “wet-process” lithium-ion battery separators which are key components in EV batteries. ENTEK expects the plant to be up and running by sometime in 2027.
