Property tax bills in Crawford County were due at the end of August. According to Rikki Callaway, friendly reminders have been sent thru the mail and will be arriving soon for those who have not paid their property taxes. After October 3rd, if the taxes remain unpaid, a certified letter is mailed to the delinquent property tax payer. If the property taxes are not paid by October 16, names will be put in a legal notice and delinquent will have until November 2nd before a judgement is ordered on the property. A tax sale is set to take place on November 9th. You can pay your delinquent taxes online thru CrawfordCountyIL.org or can stop by the treasurers office in the Courthouse Annex on the East side of the square.
