(Undated) – The fatal accident a week ago near Teutopolis is being blamed in part on the diversion of traffic from I-70 to U.S. 40 after the interstate was closed for an accident. State Representative, Adam Niemerg, says he is frustrated about recent accidents on that stretch of I-70 which have led to increased traffic on US-40. In a statement, he asked for accountability from IDOT for not being able to alleviate accidents in that work zone. The accident outside of T-Town remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
