(Undated) – A Sullivan, Indiana man is behind bars after leading police on a “high speed” chase in a motorhome yesterday. According to Robinson Police Chief, Chad Weaver, at around 10:50 a.m. officers located, at the corner of Clearwater and King, a 1999 Ford Dolphin motorhome that had been reported stolen. Weaver reports that following a traffic stop and brief conversation, the driver, forty-eight-year-old Chad Matheson, sped away with RPD officers in pursuit. Matheson traveled through Robinson and Hutsonville before crossing the bridge into Indiana, where he drove off the road into a ditch and wrecked. Matheson then reportedly fled on foot before being appended by the Robinson Police. Weaver says that Matheson was left in the custody of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office. However, the Robinson Police have filed charges of Aggravated Fleeing, Driving While License Revoked, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Obstructing Identification, and Reckless Driving. The Crawford and Sullivan County Sheriff’s Departments, Hutsonville, Palestine, and Sullivan Police Departments as well as the Indiana State Police assisted in the pursuit.
