Natural Gas Prices Could Increase In January

(Undated) – Natural gas customers statewide will likely see higher bills beginning in January. Administrative judges at the Illinois Commerce Commission have recommended rate increases for the four gas companies in Illinois. Over the next two months, the ICC will weigh whether to approve rate hikes for the 4.1 million customers of Ameren Illinois, Nicor Gas, Peoples Gas, and North Shore Gas. Estimates on the cost to consumers of the rate increase remain unclear.
