(Palestine) – Palestine Police Chief, Jeff Besing, signed off for the last time yesterday. Besing announced his retirement earlier this month and yesterday was his final shift. Besing served as Palestine Police Chief for the last decade. The Palestine Police Department also lost Officer, Jake McGinness, earlier this month. Officer McGinness took a position with the Tuscola Police Department. Until the Village of Palestine hires new law enforcement personnel, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office will be handling law enforcement calls for the Village. Palestine residents are reminded, in the event of an emergency call 911. Business calls for the Palestine Police Department will be handled by Palestine Village Hall.
