Struggling Families Encouraged to Apply for LIHEAP Help

(Undated) – State and local authorities are encouraging struggling families to apply for utility bill assistance. Eligible families can receive utility bill assistance for natural gas, propane, and electricity through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Since the launch of the program, more than two-hundred-thirty-thousand households have received utility assistance. LIHEAP provides one-time payments directly to energy service providers on behalf of recipients.
