Marathon Uses Loud Noise to Deter Birds

(Robinson) – Those that live in close proximity to Marathon may hear something strange. In an effort to ensure the safety of the bird population Marathon will be using loud, short bursts of sound from the refinery just before and after dark. These sounds are designed to safely deter birds from entering the refinery workspace and do not harm the birds and is in no way a danger to the public. If you have questions or concerns you are asked to call 544-2121 and ask to speak to Human Resources.
