Odds of a White Christmas Don’t Look Good

(Undated) – If you have your hopes set on a “white Christmas” you are going to be disappointed. According to the National Weather Service, we are more likely to see above-normal temperatures than snow. According to National Weather Service Meteorologist, Alex Erwin, there’s maybe a 30% chance of snow over the next two weeks, but the patterns leading up to Christmas don’t seem to give too much hope. He says the “extended forecast” shows a pretty strong signal across the entire U.S. that, especially across Illinois, is above normal temperatures. For a Christmas to be considered “white” there has to be a minimum of an inch of snow on the ground.
