(Undated) – A daytime high of 54 might not be normal for Christmas but neither is a “white Christmas,” at least for central Illinois.
According to National Weather Service Meteorologist, Ed Shimon, for it to be considered a “white Christmas” there has to be at least one inch of snow on the ground Christmas morning.
Shimon notes we are in the heart of the “El Nino winter” here in late December but it will continue to have an impact into the spring.
