(Undated) – A pair of Newton residents are behind bars following their arrest on burglary charges. According to authorities, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Vic’s Café in Wendelin over the weekend for a burglary in progress. Following a multi-agency investigation, Trevor Lindemann and Haleigh Bail both of Newton were arrested in connection to the Wendelin burglary as well as a burglary in Jasper County. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Effingham Police Department, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Newton Police Department, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, and Clay County State’s Attorney’s Office.
