Video Gaming Generating Billions of Dollars in Tax Revenue Statewide

The Illinois Gaming Board reported that the State and local governments earned more than one-point-five-billion dollars in tax revenue in 2023. That includes funds from the state’s fifteen licensed casinos, more than forty-six thousand video gaming terminals, and thirteen sports wagering operators statewide. According to the report, over eleven billion dollars was wagered on sports last year in Illinois, which has become one of the highest grossing sports wagering markets in the country.
