(Mattoon) — The Illinois State Police are reporting the sentencing of a Mattoon man on child porn charges. In December of 2023, twenty-three-year-old Dayquan Slaughter was taken into custody for possession of Child Pornography following an investigation by the ISP and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. On February 5th, Slaughter pled guilty to four Class X felony charges involving both possession and dissemination of child pornography and was sentenced to 25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
