(Marshall) – A recent crash near Marshall is gaining statewide attention. The Illinois State Police say the crash on Interstate 70 is the fifth accident related to “Scott’s Law” this year. The law requires motorists to slow down and move over when approaching an emergency vehicle that has its hazard lights flashing. On Friday, state police say a car struck a state trooper’s vehicle that had pulled over on I-70 in Clark County. They say the trooper’s car’s lights were flashing while the officer was investigating a crash. Nobody was hurt but the driver was charged with several offenses, including failure to yield to a stopped emergency vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
