Cell Service Outage Remains Under Investigation

(Undated) – The investigation continues into yesterday’s “mass outage” of cell service which impacted customers nationwide. Reports say the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and other agencies are looking into whether the cause is a cyberattack or just technical difficulties. Outages were reported in major cities such as Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. The issue seemed to mostly affect AT&T customers. While T-Mobile and Verizon customers also reported some issues, the carriers said their networks did not experience outages and the problems were most likely the result of their customers trying to contact AT&T customers.
