Trump Likely to Remain on Illinois Ballot Following Supreme Court Ruling

(Undated) — A ruling from the Supreme Court prohibits states from using the 14th Amendment to bar candidates from appearing on ballots for election. That decision was directed at a case from Colorado but should impact a judge’s ruling on Donald Trump being on the primary ballot here in Illinois. A Cook County judge last week ordered the former president to be dropped from the ballot under the 14th Amendment’s insurrectionist clause. Illinois Governor, JB Pritzker, said he’s looking forward to the former president being on the ballot in Illinois because he says that only helps Democrats.
The state’s primary election is March 19th.
