Fraud Losses are up 15% Statewide

According to a newly published study by LendingTree based on numbers gathered from the Federal Trade Commission, fraud-related losses in Illinois increased by more than 15% from 2022 to 2023. Text scams led the way resulting in the most losses in Illinois in 2023. These texts typically include a link that when clicked can lead to the data on your phone being stolen. You are reminded that it is best to simply delete these texts and to never provide personal information to anyone that you have not already verified as being a legitimate business or associate.
