The Eclipse is Less Than a Month Away

(Undated) – We are now less than a month away from the total solar eclipse. On April 8th, people in 15 states will be able to see the moon almost totally cover the sun, casting a shadow over it and creating the effect of a fiery ring in the sky. Officials say the skies will temporarily darken in the “path of totality,” which includes much of Illinois and Indiana. However, in all other states in the U.S., viewers will be able to see a partial solar eclipse with the moon appearing to take a bite out of the sun. This year’s eclipse “peak viewing time” will be around 2 p.m. central time. The next total solar eclipse visible in the United States won’t be until 2044.
