Early Voting Turnout Low

By Tony Collins Mar 18, 2024 | 6:35 AM

(Undated) – The General Primary Election is tomorrow and the early numbers show voter turnout statewide is low. Analysts say voter turnout so far is significantly lower, especially for a general election year. Typically, voter turnout is low in a primary year but not in a year when the presidential election is held. Northwestern University Political Communications Professor, Erik Nisbet, says turnout numbers are the lowest he has seen in more than a decade. Experts say “get out the vote” efforts will be more crucial than ever this year.
