(Undated) – The National Weather Service is forecasting a very windy day today. According to this morning’s “Hazardous Weather Outlook” west-southwest winds will increase through the early part of the day with gusts reaching 35-45 mph from late morning through mid-afternoon. The strong winds may make travel difficult for high-profile vehicles. They also say that due to the strong gusty winds and low relative humidity, an elevated fire danger will exist across central Illinois today. Brush and leaf burning should be avoided as any fires could quickly spread out of control.
