(Undated) – Following the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore many may be questioning the safety of bridges across the country. Paul Wappel with the Illinois Department of Transportation says they work very hard to ensure bridges statewide are as safe as possible.
Wappel says the agency has overseen the improvement of more than five-hundred-thirty bridges statewide over the past four years.
