According to Rutan, the reported text purports to be from the “Illinois Toll Way” and indicates that you have an “outstanding toll” and encourages you to click the provided link to avoid a late fee. Rutan says if you receive a text claiming that you owe a toll, do not respond and do not click the attached link. Authorities say the best option is to simply delete the message.
