(Undated) — A new report says most Illinois school districts are facing a “serious teacher shortage.” The report comes from the Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of Schools and shows ninety-three percent of schools that were surveyed are facing a shortage of substitute teachers. It also says eighty-eight percent of the schools surveyed receive five or fewer applications for a position and more than seventy percent say half of the applicants for jobs don’t have the proper credentials to teach.
