(Undated) – Despite recent refinery issues the average price for a gallon of gas has taken a break from its upward march. GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, says for now, motorists have a bit of a reprieve from the constant big weekly price jumps. The current national average is hovering around $3.54 a gallon. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.86. In Indiana, the statewide average is $3.40 a gallon. Mississippi and Colorado are tied for the lowest prices in the nation with statewide averages of $3.04 a gallon. Drivers in California are paying the most at $5.09 a gallon.
