GasBuddy Says Refinery Shutdown Could Affect Prices

(Undated) – Gas prices could see a jump following a recent refinery shutdown here in Illinois. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick DeHaan, Exxon-Mobile plans to shut down their Joliet refinery for at least a month.
DeHaan says this could be an issue if other outages occur. However, this comes on the heels of the BP’s refinery coming back up, and that may stave off the market’s reaction. The refinery in Joliet produces up to nine million gallons of diesel and gasoline daily.
