(Undated) – This year is expected to be a big year for cicadas. University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator, Ken Johnson, two broods have synced their lifecycle to emerge together for the first time in over two hundred years.
Johnson says in areas with a lot of cicada, the noise could be as much as ninety decibels or the equivalent of a motorcycle or lawnmower. For more information, visit extension.illinois.edu/cicadas.
