(Undated) — The American Red Cross continues to face one of its worst blood shortages in decades. They say blood and platelet donations for all blood types are needed. While just 7% of the U.S. population has Type-O Negative blood, it can be transfused to patients with any blood type and is what hospital staff reaches for during emergencies when there isn’t time to determine a patient’s blood type. You have two chances to donate today in Crawford County. The Red Cross will be at the Oblong Grade School from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and at the Robinson Civic Center from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. To learn more and schedule your appointment, visit redcrossblood.org.
