(Undated) – Ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East continues to drive fluctuations in the price of oil and gas. While we have seen gas prices climb in recent weeks, they remain on par with last year. According to GasBuddy.com, the current national average is $3.66 a gallon, a penny higher than this time last year. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.90 a gallon, seventeen cents lower than last year. In Indiana, the statewide average is $3.67, six cents higher than last year. Industry experts say oil prices are down slightly this morning. Brent crude futures fell 67 cents to $86.22 a barrel. West Texas oil dropped 63 cents to $82.51 a barrel. The prices temporarily spiked more than three dollars on Friday after an Israeli attack on Iran.
