(Robinson) — The Marathon Community Investment Program recently awarded a donation to United Way of Crawford County. According to United Way of Crawford County Community Resource Representative, Barbara Shimer, the twenty-thousand dollar donation will benefit three local mental health facilities. The donation will be split between the Guardian Center, SWAN, and Prevail Illinois. The agencies will receive donations of $7,500, $5,000, and $7,500 respectively. Shimer says this generous gift will help children who have been physically or sexually abused, those who have become homeless due to abuse, and many others.
