(Robinson) — Leaders from CMH were among ninety hospital and health system representatives who took part in “Hospital Advocacy Day” last week. CMH CEO, Doug Florkowski, met with Illinois State Senator, Chapin Rose, to discuss the state’s involvement in healthcare. During the meeting, Florkowski pointed out that CMH and hospitals statewide need members of the Illinois General Assembly to vote in support of topics including, continued investment in equitable Medicaid hospital rates, reforms to reduce barriers to healthcare, streamlined access to patient care, and help ensure access to life-saving drugs. “Hospital Advocacy Day” is an opportunity for hospital and health system leaders from communities throughout the state to meet face-to-face with legislators and share first-hand how legislation will impact their organizations and the patients they serve. “Hospital Advocacy Day” is organized by the Illinois Health and Hospital Association.
